INVESTMENT

Research suggests that greater satisfaction in your romantic relationship is significantly associated with greater general life satisfaction. Distressing relationships are associated with a range of physical, emotional, and psychological problems. Couples therapy is a unique opportunity to invest into the health of your relationship. It can also serve as a preventative approach to build resiliency, strength, and commitment for lifelong success.

Many therapists will state that they provide relationship counseling but often have never had specific training in couples therapy. Couples therapy is very different from individual therapy, and so no matter whom you decide to work with for couples work, I encourage you to read their credentials to make sure they have had additional training working with couples.

In my practice, I provide sessions that are different from most individual and couples therapists. I provide 75 minute extended couples therapy sessions (versus a standard 50 minute therapy session), because I have found the extra time to be critical to working through breakthroughs that may happen in sessions that may then get cut off with only 50 minutes to process them. My fee is $215 for a 75 minute session, and it is based on a prorated rate of $145 for a 50 minute session, which is a typical individual session fee.

Given I maintain a very limited practice, I do not accept insurance. However, a detailed receipt, or "superbill," can be provided at each session, and you are welcome to submit this to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I do not guarantee coverage by your insurance provider.

I accept several forms of payment including cash, check, credit/debit cards, and HSA/Flex cards. Payments are due at the start of every session.

I unfortunately do not have much flexibility with changing appointment times given my limited schedule and practice (Wednesdays 8:30am-5pm). Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be charged the full session fee for the time reserved. Exceptions to this fee include any medical or family emergencies with approval.
